In order to do what you love in life you have to make sacrifices. Growing up I was extremely afraid of airplanes. My Mom would have to give me medicine to sleep when we would fly home to visit my relatives in Kentucky. My love in life is music. Being in a touring band means you have to travel all the time and unfortunately that includes flying. I wasn’t going to let my fear hold me back from following my dream. I conquered my fear and now fly all the time and dont think twice about it.

A life of music is not normal by any means. All the serious relationships I have ever been in were long distance. I know no other way. It used to be super hard when I was younger. Cellphones weren’t around. No messenger, no AIM and no computers. It was pretty much impossible to have a girlfriend.
I am lucky now that technology has improved since 1996. Far apart isn’t as far apart as it used to be. It still can be a frustrating thing though. You can’t truly be there to make anything better. You can’t hug the person after you just over reacted over something stupid. Your words and voice have to be enough.
I play my songs , tour with my band, and hope that all will align together in the end. What else could I do?

I don’t even like to think about this one, I live 12 hours from my boyfriend and he’s in 2 touring bands. And I get overly frustrated half the time. But I’d rather deal with the distance and let him live his dream and know he’s still coming home to me, then be without him.
